Sailing the path of past resort shows, Dior 2015 was all about a great escape. Last season, Simons took on time: Cadillac pinks and Cali-vibe crops nodded to America’s automotive boom while metallic infusions pulled his classic lace into the present Monaco raceways. For 2015 he took on location, playing with the question: what does a global clientele’s escape look like when one’s paradise is always another’s home?
The answer came way of interpreting feeling. In a preview interview Simons said he wanted “to touch on elements of Dior history but also link to what I feel when I am in New York.” Every person may escape to a different local, but the feeling of escaping is mutual regardless of place.
